The first home built in the Hollywoodland development — the hillside community beneath the sign that named the city in 1923.
A century of original detail had accumulated here: plaster moldings, original hardwood floors, arched doorways, and windows that no longer exist in production. The full renovation touched all of it without changing any of it. Plumbing, HVAC, and electrical were rebuilt from the ground up; luxury appliances and finishes brought the home into the present. But the plaster is original. The floors are original. The arches are original.
Some renovations are about transformation. This one was about stewardship.
